Estate agent Sheila would rather go to jail than pay a £30 fine

AN ESTATE agent has vowed she will go to prison before paying a parking ticket.
Coulsdon senior sales manager Sheila Larey was shocked when she realised she had got a parking fine even though she shells out more than £400 a year to park near her work on Brighton Road.
When Ms Larey, who works in Park and Bailey estate agents, called the council to query her ticket she was told her £444 permit had run out and, because of a change in the system, the authority was no longer sending out reminder letters.
The 55-year-old said: "When I saw a ticket for £30 on my car I thought there had been a mistake and they had put it on the wrong car.
"I looked at my permit and saw that it had run out but I hadn't received a renewal notice."
But despite appealing, Ms Larey's ticket still stands and she is furious that the council is targeting those who pay for business permits.
She explained: "I know this sounds ridiculous but I'd rather go to prison than pay the £30 fine. I won't...
